Prior to completing my initial training, I had already been following another reiki master, Alexis. However, it wasn’t until I had an astrology reading from Anthony Perrota in the fall of 2022, and mentioned wanting more training, that he encouraged me to follow this pull for more training.

That same day, I signed up for the reiki mastery program held by Alexis and her business partner, Giulia under the name of Luminaries Healing. This program was also six weeks, and brought with it immense healing and many changes. These changes involved leaving behind anything that wasn’t in alignment with who I was becoming.

One of the big things I let go of was my teaching career. At the time, I had been completing professional development work to return to the classroom. Prior to the eclipse of November 2022, I had begun eyeing the window on my laptop that had my professional development work on it. Finally, on the day of the eclipse, I closed the window. Closing the door on this profession, gave me the space to fully focus on my mastery program and soon after to start building my own reiki business.

My reiki training also allowed me to connect with my body and intuition. In my case, I’d dealt with my traumas by dissociating, and this program really helped me form a relationship with both.

Lastly, in the summer of 2021, I had begun experiencing some mental health issues. During this time, I was completing an Akashic Records program, which involved spending a lot of time in my upper chakras (third eye and crown), and I became ungrounded to the point that I was hospitalized for the majority of the summer. As someone who has now come out on the other side of this, I’ve spent some time reflecting on this mental health journey.

One of the things that has come to mind is the importance of being grounded. Had I been given training surrounding this, maybe I could have avoided my mental health issues. However, this is not the case, and I now have this experience under my belt. As a reiki practitioner, I strive to help others become grounded, especially as we come into a time when spiritual practices become more mainstream and available to the public.

Reiki Story

While I’m unsure when exactly reiki crossed my path, it still has been a practice that has greatly impacted me. I remember journaling about reiki, and wanting to become a reiki master in the summer of 2020.

In the New Year, I signed up to complete an Usui Reiki program. This program lasted about 6 weeks, and was a great foundation to the practice of reiki.
